For lab assignments in EGR 103 for Fall 2021, you will be uploading both a PDF of your final lab report as well as zip file with your finished Overleaf project to Sakai. The process is detailed below relative to Lab 1.

Download the PDF

When you are ready to move your finished product from Overleaf to Sakai, you will want to download the PDF by clicking the download icon to the right of the Recompile button. The name of the PDF will be the same as the name of the project - that is fine.

Download the Project

Next you will download the Overleaf project - this should have all your Python files and graphs in it as well as the tex file. Note that it will not have a PDF in it - that is why you have to download that separately. In Overleaf, click the Menu button at the top right of the screen and the click the Source icon in the Download section. THe name of the zip file will be the same as the name of the project.

Upload the Files

Open a browser tab and go to sakai.duke.edu and log in. Go to the page for EGR 103 for this semester and then click on the Assignments button. Select the appropriate assignment. In the window that comes up, scroll down to the Attachments part and the Choose File. You will need to navigate to wherever you just saved your PDF. Once you have attached that, repeat the process of clicking on Choose File and attach your zip file.

Once you have attached things, you can "Proceed" and then "Submit." After submitting, you should click on the PDF file that you uploaded to make sure everything that is supposed to be there is there. That includes all graphs. During the first couple of labs, you will be allowed to resubmit a lab if we can conclusively determine that your lab was completed on time but simply uploaded wrong. After that, however, whatever you upload is what will be graded.

Submitting a New Version

If you need to submit a different version of your documents (perhaps you updated some code, or you uploaded the wrong kind of file) you can do that up until the submission deadline. The process for that is similar to uploading your file:

  • Make sure the file you want to upload exists and is available to you on your computer.
  • Start a browser, go to Sakai, login, pick the class, pick the assignments list, pick the assignment.
  • In the list under Attachments, click the Remove link next to the version of the assignment you no longer wish to submit.
  • Choose the new file you would like to upload in its place.
  • Be sure to actually Resubmit the new work.
  • In the Assignment list, click the assignment again to make sure the files are what they should be.
