For lab assignments in EGR 103 for Fall 2020, you will be uploading a PDF of your lab report to Sakai. Sometimes you will also be uploading other files (graphs, data files, etc). The process is detailed below relative to Lab 1.

Download the PDF

When you are ready to move your finished product from Overleaf to Sakai, you will want to download the PDF by clicking the download icon to the right of the Recompile button. The name of the PDF will be the same as the name of the project - that is fine. Note contrary to any prior statements, in the Fall of 2020 instead of having to upload your tex file you will instead share it with your TA. More on that in a moment.

Upload the File

Open a browser tab and go to sakai.duke.edu and log in. Go to the page for EGR 103 for this semester and then click on the Assignments button. Select the appropriate assignment. In the window that comes up, scroll down to the Attachments part and the Choose File. You will need to navigate to wherever you just saved your PDF.

Note: You are responsible for then clicking on the file that you uploaded to make sure everything that is supposed to be there is there. That includes all graphs and such in the PDF file. During the first couple of labs, you will be allowed to resubmit if we can conclusively determine that your lab was completed on time but simply uploaded wrong. After that, however, whatever you upload is what will be graded.

For Lab 1, I also want you to paste a link for the TA to be able to view/edit your PDF. To get that link:

  • In the Overleaf project window click the share icon near the top right
  • Turn on link sharing
  • Copy the "Anyone with this link can view this project" link
  • Paste the link into the Assignment Text section of the Solution portion of the Assignment on Sakai.

Submitting a New Version

If you need to submit a different version of your document (perhaps you updated it, or you uploaded the wrong kind of file) you can do that up until the submission deadline. The process for that is similar to uploading your file:

  • Make sure the file you want to upload exists and is available to you on your computer.
  • Start a browser, go to Sakai, login, pick the class, pick the assignments list, pick the assignment.
  • In the list under Attachments, click the Remove link next to the version of the assignment you no longer wish to submit.
  • Choose the new file you would like to upload in its place.
  • Be sure to actually Resubmit the new work.
  • In the Assignment list, click the assignment again to make sure the files are what they should be.
