This page will be a list of various class policies for lectures and labs taught by Michael Gustafson. It is a work in progress!

Lectures

  • Students should finish consuming any food outside of the classroom and before class. Be sure to dispose of any used food containers in appropriate garbage receptacles outside of the classroom.
  • Beverages are generally allowed in the classroom so long as they are in a spill-proof or spill-resistant container.
  • Be prepared to take notes by the time class starts.
  • Cell phones and other mobile distractions should be in silent (not vibrate) mode during class; they may not be used for any purpose unless approved by the instructor for special cases.
  • Computers may be used only for taking notes or for working on relevant coding examples to the current lecture. Any use of a computer which is a distraction from the lecture material is prohibited.

Laboratories

  • Students should finish consuming any food outside of the laboratory and before lab starts. Be sure to dispose of any used food containers in appropriate garbage receptacles outside of the lab.
  • Beverages are generally not allowed in the lab unless otherwise specified. One notable exception to this is that beverages (in spill-proof or spill-resistant containers) are allowed in Fitzpatrick B209 for EGR 103 labs except during DAQ weeks.
  • Be prepared to take notes by the time lab starts.
  • Cell phones and other mobile distractions should be in silent (not vibrate) mode during labs; they may not be used for any purpose unless approved by the instructor for special cases.
  • Computers may be used only for taking notes or for working on relevant coding examples to the current laboratory. Any use of a computer which is a distraction from the lab material is prohibited.
