About Me

I am a student in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University with the plan to double major in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and Computer Science.

Interests

Since a young age, my father, a computer scientist, shared his love for computers with me. He taught me how to code at the age of 12 and I immediately fell in love with it. Outside of school, I enjoy playing most if not all sports, but played baseball and basketball in high school. One of my biggest interests, borderline obsession, is cars. It has come to the point where I can name almost any car on the road as well as a few specifications, but I especially enjoy exotic vehicles. If I ever need to relax, I will either go shoot basketball or go for a drive; both while listening to music.

Demonstrations

My favorite demonstration was Earth's Topography. MatLab's computing power is excellently displayed, as the program imports two data sets corresponding to altitude data and color data for designated altitudes, respectively. The demonstration then makes an two-dimensional outline of the earth and filled it in with color depending on the imported altitude data. Finally, the program makes the globe three-dimensional with the coloring and proportions intact. This demonstration is my favorite because, besides being visually appealing, it shows how MatLab, and engineers in general, use data in order to make models of the natural world.
