About Me
I am nineteen years old, and I am a first-year undergrad at Duke University planning on studying Civil Engineering. As of right now I am leaning more towards the environmental track, but I am not too sure as both the environmental and structural tracks seem really interesting. A fun fact about me is that I was born in El Salvador, but moved to Boston when I was seven years old and have lived there ever since.
Name Pronunciation
Some background story of my name: When my dad had just arrived in the US, he worked in a restaurant with a coworker named "Flavia" (Fl-ah-vee-ah) and really liked her name. Thus, he decided to name me after her, however, he was not sure how her name was written and spelled it based on how it sounded to him. Hence, I ended with the name "Flabia"(Fl-ah-bee-ah). Although it is not spelled the same way, my family still pronounces it as "Fl-ah-vee-ah" so you can pronounce it "Fl-ah-vee-ah" or "Fl-ah-bee-ah" (I don't mind either).
