Hi! I'm from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, but don't worry I've been a Duke fan since birth. I attended and graduated from Chapel Hill High School as a valedictorian and playing both soccer and lacrosse. I'm currently a freshman in the Pratt School of Engineering with a planned major in ME. I'm enrolled in Math 212 (multi-variable), EGR 103L, Writing 101 (myths of the maya), and Chem 101.
First Assignment
One of the Grand Challenges that really interested me was the one concerning the development of fusion as a reliable energy source. I found an article from Princeton detailing part of the process of ongoing fusion research in Germany. Here it is: PPPL-designed coils arrive in Germany for fusion experiment, John Greenwald, Princeton University, posted 27 August 2012, accessed 28 August 1012 (Provide energy from fusion).
Second Assignment
My favorite demonstration was the Matrix Manipulation one. First, this very practical information which I will use with pretty much every MATLAB task that I undertake. Secondly, I found the creation and explanation of the magic matrices extremely interesting. Furthermore, I found it very helpful to have the magic matrix be a consistent motif throughout the explanations and demonstrations.
