Favorite MATLAB Demonstrations
My favorite MATLAB demonstration is the Viewing a Penny Demo. In some ways, this demo is fairly intimidating because I realize that if I tried to make a contour model of a penny on MATLAB I would probably fail miserably. However, this is a double-edged sword because the penny model also shows me what is possible with MATLAB if I can improve my knowledge and skill level with the program. The fact that MATLAB can load data for the elevation of every point on the surface of a penny is pretty mind-blowing, so it shows me that possibilities with MATLAB are pretty extensive.
There is some bias in my selection of favorite demonstration, however. I am into politics, and since my favorite president is Abraham Lincoln, it was pretty hard for me to pick against any demonstration with Lincoln's likeness in it.
