Hello! My name is Charlie Pearlman. I'm a student in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University. I'm looking to major in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Interests
Sports
- I am a huge Chicago Cubs fan
- I ran cross country in high school
- I tried out for the Duke football team, but didn't make the cut
- I like to play most sports, competitively or just casually
Music
- I like most genres of music
- Twenty One Pilots are my favorite alternative group and currently my favorite music group in general
Other
- I have a lot of interests, too many to write down. Maybe we can discuss our shared interests over a bowl of soup from ABP!
Grand Challenges
One of the Grand Challenges for Engineering is making solar power economical. Here is a link about solar power and Pacific Gas and Electric. This caught my eye because I watched the movie about Erin Brokovich and the case against PG&E.

MATLAB Demo's
My favorite demo in MATLAB is the Traveling Salesman Problem. I loved watching as the computer got closer and closer to the correct answer. Also, one of my parents is a traveling salesman so this demo especially interested me.
