The Grand Challenges for Engineering are 14 goals set by the National Academy of Engineers as the most important engineering challenges at present. The goals include environmental and energy-related challenges, such as providing energy from fusion, health-related concerns, including to engineer better medicines, and security goals, including preventing nuclear terror, among others.
