I am currently a freshman in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University. I lived in Sammamish, Washington (a suburb around Seattle) for the past 10 years. My interests include art (digital and traditional), music (violin), and hiking.
Name Pronunciation
My legal name is Shiqian Zhang (张诗倩 in simplified Chinese), but I go by Susan. The pronunciation of this would be: "SOO-zan ZANG" (rhymes with hang).
Favorite Demonstration
My favorite MATLAB demonstration was the Logo demonstration in the Gallery. I had previously thought that the MATLAB logo looked really cool, especially with the shading of the lighting, but I no idea that the MATLAB logo was able to be directly created using functions in MATLAB. This demonstration really showed me how versatile MATLAB is and also highlighted the potential of mathematics in design.
