About Me

Born in China, grew up in San Jose, California. Bay Area weather (and Bay Area in general) is unparalleled. I used to live 5 minutes away from Steve Jobs. Silicon Valley is like the Research Triangle of the west, only cooler. I speak English, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. Currently brushing up the Chinese and working on Hindi. I have an unhealthy obsession with Bollywood movies and Hindi music. I'm currently a freshman in Trinity College but am hoping to transfer to Pratt as a BME/Pre-Med student. I'm part of a fusion dance team and a cappella group. I run.

Mucho gusto to meet you.

What's in a name?

My ethnic name is 刘锐, which is pronounced Líu Rùi (pronounced exactly like Ray). The name 锐 (Rùi) means sharp-minded. Flip the names around and you get Ray Liu! "Ray" rhymes with "hey." "Liu" is pronounced like LOU (yes, like the toilet).

Favorite Demos

I really like the demo called "Functions of Complex Variables." Just being able to visualize all these mathematical functions in such a vivid and concrete way is just...awesome.
