About Me

My name is Marley Zelinger and I am currently a freshman at Duke University. I am in the Pratt School of Engineering as an undergraduate. I live in Long Island, New York and attended Commack High School. I am currently planning in majoring in BME. I love sushi and the color green.

Name Pronunciation

Marley is pronounced the same way as Bob Marley or Marley and Me. It rhymes with gnarly, barley and Carly. Zelinger is pronounced Zel-in-jer, so basically exactly how it looks with a j replacing the g.

Matlab Demonstrations

My favorite demonstration was the Graphics Earth's Topography one. I thought it was interesting to see how each layer of complexity of the visual built on the last one. The first part of the script only made a general outline of the continents, then more information was used to demonstrate topography using color, and then finally the graphic of the globe came up. It was interesting to see how a program built on matrices could run a script that didn't seem related to matrices at all at first glance.
