About Me

I'm a freshman at the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University. I enjoy both the biomedical and electrical fields of engineering so it's really a toss up between the two for which is the favorite. I play soccer and lacrosse and I enjoy attempting just about any other sport. I think that's about it for now.

Homework One

This article is on the need for nuclear engineering programs throughout the nation. The New Hot Job: Nuclear Engineering , Alison Go, US News and World Report, Written August 14, 2008, Accessed September 6, 2012 (Nuclear)

Homework Two

Of the demonstrations I looked at, I found the most interesting one to be the inverse matrix one. The reason I found this one interesting is because I attended a GE informational session over the weekend and at it one of the presenters used this concept. He had a coded picture of the Duke Blue Devil Logo; as a coded image, it didn't resemble anything more than arbitrary dots in space. However, when he ran the animation, the image rotated and created the Duke logo. Afterwards he said he did it using MatLab, and that it was a relatively easy thing to do, requiring only about 50 lines of code! One of my goals for this semester is to use of MatLab is to do this using an image of my own.
