Welcome to Kylie's Pundit Page

About me:

Hey everyone! My name is Kylie Gancos and I am a freshman at Duke University looking to pursue a double major in Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering! After college, I hope to join a branch of the Air Force to work as a part of the medical corps.

Name Pronunciation:

My first name is pretty easy/intuitive to pronounce, Kylie (Ky-LEE). However, not many people pronounce my last name correctly, so I don't expect people to correctly say it on the first try, Gancos (Gain-KISS). Altogether it's pronounced Kylie Gancos (Ky-LEE Gain-KISS).

Hobbies/Interests:

When I'm not doing homework or academic research, I enjoy spending my time being active(I'm currently training to run a half marathon in the next month!), hiking, going to the gym, visiting the beach, reading(currently enjoying the novel, "Burn the Boats" by Matt Higgins), and hanging out with friends.

Fun Facts:

  • I'm from California!
  • I have written multiple thesis papers concerning cardiology and computational fluid dynamics
  • I love running and have been involved in cross-country since middle-school
  • I have a siamese cat as a pet(his name is Mo after the composer "Mozart")
  • I have a younger brother (this makes it sound like he's way younger, but we are really only 2 and 1/2 years apart!)
  • At home I work for a local fruit stand during the summers!
