Experts Weigh in on Fusion Energy , US and International Fusion Program , accessed 29 August 2013 (Provide Energy from Fusion)

Homework 2: Favorite Demonstration and why? My favorite demonstration was the Earth's Topography from the graphics section. For me, I did not completely understand how the data they obtained from the NOAA could be manipulated and presented in the final form as the spherical globe with the accurate contour, and I find that transition from the numbers to the graphical presentation of such to be very cool and incredible. I have never understood how I could take data and use a program to put it in such form, and examining the script for it on my computer was something that I had never experienced before. They started by simply importing the data, and then they made an outline of the continents through the process of plotting the points of zero altitude. First of all, I would not have thought about using this method in order to create an outline of the continents, and I had not know that such could have been done from this set of data so easily. I was personally impressed by this as I saw it as great ingenuity to obtain a desired result through manipulation and operation of the information given. Finally, seeing the code process a 2-D image was perhaps the most impressive to me, simply because I have never seen the code to render such images. I always imagined it to be some complex process of coding; however it did not appear as so from the script which is a concept I found intriguing.
