About Me

I am a student in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University. I went to Hinsdale Central High School near Chicago, IL, where I grew up. I am a big fan of watching football and basketball, but I also love watching other sports. I've spent the last eight summers at YMCA Camp Tecumseh as a camper and a counselor.

Name Pronunciation

My name is pretty standard to pronounce. Charles or Charlie are common names. Gelman can be confused, but very simply, it's pronounced with a hard 'G' like 'Gray' not 'Gel' and it rhymes with the name of the giraffe in Madagascar- Melman.

Favorite MATLAB Demonstration

My favorite MATLAB demonstration was the Minesweeper demonstration, which is listed other "Other Examples". I just found it amazing that one of my favorite games to play as a child was able to programmed using a language that I'm learning in this class.
