About Me
I am a first year Pratt student, majoring in BME with a possible double-major in neuroscience. My hobbies include sleeping, Kanye West, and metal. Recently, I've developed a profound appreciation for Kendrick Lamar and the Brooklyn Nets. New York City is my love and home. My goal for Duke is to learn as much as I can, while retaining a semblance of a social life and scraps of sanity.
Name Pronunciation
It's Karolina. Yes, with a K, no, not like the state.
Favorite MATLAB Demonstration
I think that, overall, my favorite demonstration was the one on Earth's Topography. It was amazing to see that a program as seemingly simple as MATLAB could not only store altitude data for the entire planet, but also create an illuminated 3D image of the values it stored. The demonstration made me aware of the vast ways MATLAB could be used as more than just a matrix storage and manipulation device. In addition to Earth's Topography, I also enjoyed the demos on the Loma Prieta Earthquake, Viewing a Penny, the Traveling Salesman, and the Game of Life. Each of these demonstrations provided insight as to the many applications of MATLAB.
