About Me

My name is Emily Briere and I am a student at Duke University hoping to major in Aerospace Engineering. I have a twin brother, Nick, who is also attending Duke University. I am orginially from Storrs, Connecticut, yet during basketball season I cheer for Duke over UConn! I like to play soccer, tennis, piano, guitar, to invent and get involved. I am looking forward to the next four years of college! Go Duke!

My Name

My first name is pretty common, but my last name is French, an can be best pronounced if you say it like 'Bree Air', aka 'Briere'.

Sweet Demo

While this demo was not one of the assigned ones, the Klein bottle caught my attention as the classic optical illusion. While on its own, one Mobius strip can be hard to understand, the fusion of two along their common boundary in four-dimmensional space is even more intriguing. Predictably, the steps to plot the Klein bottle are quite complex, although to a certain degree the code uses the union of many commands that we already know. I also enjoyed the final step where we could view this figure as transparent, which really allowed me to see the two Mobius strips in action. Check it out!
