About Me
I am a Pratt student in Duke University's Class of 2021. Originally from St. Joseph, Michigan, I am the oldest of three kids and many, many animals (1 horse, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 parakeets, and too many wild animals that we feed to keep track of). I've been riding horse since 6 years old and competing in dressage (a discipline of horse back riding) on my German Hanoverian, Rollo Rock Star, since 12 years old. A couple other fun facts are that I sing opera, love to cook, and my favorite animals are elephants.
Name Pronunciation

Grand Challenges for Engineering Article
2.1 billion people lack safe drinking water at home, more than twice as many lack safe sanitation, World Health Organization, 12 July 2017, accessed 14 September 2017 (Provide Access to Clean Water)
Raised in a family very involved in Rotary, the 1.2 million member international service organization, I've always been passionate about seeking ways to improve the living conditions of those in underdeveloped countries. One of the Rotary areas of action is providing clean way to places in need, which directly coincides with this Grand Challenges of Engineering. The past two years, I helped lead a group of Rotarians and Interactors travel to La Romana, Dominican Republic to provide medical treatment, build houses, and most importantly, install water filters. After discovering this past year that the water filters were not as successful as we had anticipated, we realized how vital it truly is to engineer a world-wide means of providing easy access to clean water.
