My personal favorite would be Loma Prieta Earthquake demonstration. The oscillating graphs in three colors look interesting enough. Even though I am more used to zooming in with my thumb and my index finger, the zooming commands demonstrates the power of MATLAB in completing a wide range of tasks. Integrating the equation for acceleration is more or less expected of a modern software, but the result of drawing the 3D space and the trajectory is pretty amazing. The ease of putting several graphs inside the same window for comparison is also a nice feature of the subplot function. All in all it is interesting how much MATLAB can discover from a set of data.
