About Me

Hello. My name is Alexander Zapata (obviously). I am currently a Trinity student, but I am taking EGR 103 to decide whether I would like to transfer to Pratt or not. If I transfer into Pratt, I would be interested in an ECE and CompSci double major. If I stay in Trinity, I would be interested in obtaining a CompSci major with perhaps another major in a Natural Science.

Name Pronunciation

My first name is pretty self-explanatory. In a somewhat phonetic spelling, my name is Al-Ex-An-Der. My last name is pronounced a little more differently than expected. My last name is Zapata, pronounced Za-Pah-Ta. I would appreciate it if you called me by my first name, Alex.

Grand Challenge

The Grand Challenge that I found most interest in was The Hot New Job: Nuclear Engineering. This article detailed the phenomenon of job market expansion for Nuclear Engineering. It also tells about how important the use of Nuclear Power can be for the U.S. Economy and the environment. Favorite MatLab

My favorite MatLab example was the 3-D Plot one. It was an interesting look at the capabilities of MatLab's graphical power. I really liked to see the different types of plots and the different settings that can be used for them (ex. Mesh Grids with brown coloring).
