Brief Introduction

Hello all!

My name is Derrick Lee. I come from Seoul, Korea. I'm a first-year student at Duke, hoping to study engineering. I'm really excited about EGR 103L and I think I'll have so much fun in this class (or regret saying this and return to this page in the near future to edit out that part about having fun).

Trivia

I love bossa nova, coffee ("real" coffee), Disney princess movies, watching Bob's Burgers with my girlfriend, sandwiches, Catholic theology, existentialist philosophers, Chipotle burritos, anteaters and math.

MATLAB Demo

I found the "Traveling Salesman" demo to be particularly interesting. The traveling salesman problem asks the question of what the shortest possible route is that, when given a list of cities and relative distances among them, visits each city exactly once and returns to the original city. I think it is fascinating that MATLAB could help us model and tackle this complex mathematical problem with relative ease and also show us the results of the simulation with vivid graphic details.
