About Me
I am a first-year student at Duke University currently enrolled in the Pratt School of Engineering. I am considering a major in ECE, but I do not want to declare until I have a firmer grasp of my options.
Interests
I play guitar and sing, and I am very interested in music, both listening and performing. My garage band in Florida played a few gigs, but most of my performing has been at St. John's UMC in the youth group where I led the worship band.
Grand Challenges
The Grand Challenges for Engineering includes the goal of providing energy from fusion. MatLab Demonstrations
My favorite MatLab demonstration was "Viewing a Penny", found in the Graphics section. I found it to be the most informative and interesting demo because it delved into something most people would find mundane and analyzed it's tiny intricacies. In this way, this demo reflects the types of things that I am interested in doing as an engineer. Whereas the "Earth's Topography" demo displayed something that has been studied ad nauseum in science, there are many pennies and other like objects and systems that are small and yet diverse and deserving of further study.
