First MATLAB Impressions

Exploring MATLAB over the past few days, I have been very impressed by the breadth of its capabilities. While I don't really have experience with alternative programs, MATLAB does seem fully prepared to be able to organize data ways that are easily understandable even for beginners. One demo that especially confirmed this for me was the demo covering 3-D plots. It was really neat to see such a visual representation of data, and it was nice to see that creating plots will not only be possible, but relatively easy once I get the programming language down. It made me excited about getting deeper into engineering and getting into projects that will be not only for machines to read, but for people to read.
