About Me

I am a student in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University and live in Gilbert-Addoms! I am currently an undeclared major, however, I am considering Electrical and Computer Engineering. I also hope to pursue a minor in dance and continue to be an active volunteer in the community. I am from River Forest, Illinois, located just west of Chicago.

Name Pronunciation

My name, Emily Tucker, is pronounced EH-mih-lee TUK-ur. It is basically pronounced how you would expect it to be pronounced, pretty simple!

Favorite MATLAB Demonstration

My Favorite MATLAB Demonstration was the Logo. I found it interesting to see the code behind the logo that comes up every time we open MATLAB. I also thought it was interesting to see how MATLAB can create three-dimensional figures as if taken with a camera by using light and color. It was intriguing to attempt to examine the code so as to see how they simulated two lights on the figure as well as faded colors in out. I found it very interesting that it was almost as if they were taking a picture using pieces of code that used the word "camera" to identify a command.
