Kristin Murray

Hi! I am a Pratt Student at Duke University. My name is pronounced Kris-tin ...pretty simple... Mer (like mermaid) - rie (like "re"start). The accent is on the first part of Murray. I don't want to post any more personal information on the internet right now so this is it for this section right now. Check back later to see if I've changed anything!

Grand Challenges for Engineering

The Grand Challenges for Engineering holds a yearly summit hosted by different Universities each year. I wanted to bring to your attention one specific challenge that I found particularly interesting (see link below). I am hoping to major in Biomedical Engineering (BME) along with following the premed track. I also happen to find neuroscience particularly interesting. This is why I found this project to be the most intriguing of the Grand Challenges.

MATLAB

Throughout my EGR53 class I am learning several programming platforms, one of them being MATLAB. If you don't already know this, MATLAB has its own built-in tutorials that I have been going through as part of my class. Of all of them the most interesting are the ones that involve applications of the programs, despite how simple the program may be. That being said, I thought the Loma Prieta Earthquake was the most interesting. However, the most fun was the Minesweeper game because I enjoy playing that game in general and I find it awesome that it can be programmed on MATLAB.
