About Sorab Taneja

I am currently an undergraduate student in the Class of 2023 at Duke University. I was raised in northern New Jersey and attended Indian Hills High School in Oakland, NJ prior to enrolling at Duke. I am interested in majoring in engineering, particularly biomedical engineering, during my four years at Duke. My extracurricular interests include sports, fishing, playing the drums, and hanging out with friends and family.

Sports

I am an avid fan of the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, Brooklyn Nets, and, of course, the Duke Blue Devils. A lot of these teams dominated in their respective sports before I was born (except for Duke of course). Hopefully all of these teams bring home a championship and make me happy.

Fishing

I am a freshwater fisherman, mostly focusing my efforts on largemouth bass and trout. The fishing back home is pretty bad, so I am looking forward to exploring the better and more detailed waters of North Carolina.

Drums

I have played percussion since I was in 4th grade. I am continuing to drum here at Duke by being in the Duke marching band. Marching band combines my interests of sports and music, so I enjoy it.

Friends and family

My immediate family (besides myself) consists of my mother, father, and younger sister. I am also close to my extended family, friends back home, and friends at Duke (even though I have only known them for a short time).
