About Me

My name is Will Smith and I am a student in the Pratt School of Engineering. I came here from Strake Jesuit in Houston, Texas, where I lived (non-consecutively) for 14 years between 1999 and 2017. I was a member of my school's FIRST Robotics Competition team, and have interests in robotics, technology, music (been playing bass since 4th grade), and reading.

Grand Challenges

The potential of imposed magnetic fields for enhancing ignition probability and fusion energy yield in indirect-drive inertial confinement fusion , L.J. Perkins et. al., American Institute of Physics, Published June 2017 , Accessed 14 September 2017 (Provide energy from fusion)

MatLab Demonstrations

My favorite demonstration was "Square Wave from Sine Waves," because of it's demonstration of the power of the principles behind the Fourier transformation, a concept with numerous applications in mathematics, signals, controls systems, and physics.
