About Me
My name is Ali Bootwala, pronounced Uh-Lee Boot-Wah-la, I am part of the class of 2014, and I am hoping to major in biomedical engineering which will lead towards taking the MCAT scoring well, and attending medical school with the final goal of becoming a doctor and serving the community I live in.
Grand Challenges Link
Here's my link to an article addressing one of the grand challenges
Copious Genes of Tiny Water Flea Promise a Leap in Understanding Environmental Toxins, Katherine Harmon, Scientific American, updated 3 February 2011, accessed 9 February 2011 (Grand Challenge)
This article talks about the promise for building new understandings of ecological and environmental effects of toxins and pollution from the understanding of the genome and gene expressions of the water flea (daphnia pulex).

Homework 2
My favorite demonstration is the 3D surface plots demo because it allowed me to see the things I could do with a 3D plot, and as I am currently covering a 3D plotting section in Math 103, it is very useful to be able to visualize some of the graphs before performing any mathematical operations on them. Ultimately, the 3D plotting demo showed me a way to use matlab to help me in my math class.
