About Me

My name is Ciera Price and I am a freshman in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University. I'm from Sacramento, CA and I decided to come to Duke for the BME program and the millions of other opportunities available to Duke students.

Name Pronunciation

In my family, "Ciera Price" is pronounced like "Sea-air-uh Price." My first name sounds just like the mountain range and I don't think you can really mess my last name up.

Academic & Career Goals

I plan on majoring in biomedical engineering and completing the 4 + 1 BSE/MS program here at Duke. I am not sure whether or not I want to continue to medical school after this, but I know that eventually, I want to work with artificial limbs. For a career I am currently considering designing prostheses, implanting them, or working as a researcher to find better materials for them.
