The phonetic pronunciation of my name is jahn hide.  My favorite demonstration was the production of the globe with topographical features.  The fact that Matlab can do something as complex as map the surface of the earth and still run on my laptop.  I always assumed a program to do that would have to have tremendous processing power and would cost thousands of dollars.  The fact that I can access this program over an internet connection and still have it run quickly blows my mind.  It also changed my preception of matlab, when I was first introduced to matlab I saw it as almost a computer version of my Ti-84 calculator but now I see its so much more than that.  I'm excited to learn how to utilize the full capabilities of Matlab.
