My favorite Matlab demonstration was the 3D-Drawing demonstration. The demonstration allows the user to create 3D shapes by sketching out points inside of a box. There were many different possible sketches, and I had a lot of fun playing around with different designs. Some of the notable designs I was able to sketch out were hour glass shaped figures with multiple layers and cones with crevices encompassing the perimeter of the face.

About Me

I am a current freshmen in the Pratt School of Engineering here at Duke University. Although I am undecided about my major(s), I am interested in ECE, BME, and CS at the moment.

Name Pronunciation

My first name is pretty straightforward; don't believe anybody's gotten it wrong before! It's pronounced the way it's spelled: Alex. However, I've heard many variations in pronunciation of my last name. It's spelled as "Qiao", but really, the pronunciation is simply "chow". Not too difficult!

Interests

I've played the violin since I was three, and am currently a part of the Duke Symphony Orchestra. In addition, I've expressed interest in Duke Electric Vehicles, Duke eNable, and Duke Mobile App Development. As much as I'd like to participate in all of these clubs, I'm sure I'll have to dedicate my time to only a few of these wonderful organizations.
