About Me
I am a Pratt student in Duke University's Class of 2021. Originally from St. Joseph, Michigan, I am the oldest of three kids and many, many animals (1 horse, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 parakeets, and too many wild animals that we feed to keep track of). I've been riding horse since 6 years old and competing in dressage (a discipline of horse back riding) on my German Hanoverian, Rollo Rock Star, since 12 years old. A couple other fun facts are that I sing opera, love to cook, and my favorite animals are elephants.
Name Pronunciation
"Taylor Huie" is pronounced as tAI-ler HUE-ee (like Huey helicopter).

Learning to Use MATLAB
As an introduction to Duke's EGR103 Course, we have viewed several demonstrations and tutorials about how to navigate the MATLAB program. Of these demonstrations, my favorite was "Klein Bottle." Having never programmed/coded before walking into my first EGR103 class, I knew basically everything could be represented with an obscure series of letters, numbers, and symbols, but figured the complexity was useless to try to understand. After viewing and trying to understand the MATLAB demonstrations, I now know how simple it can be to create a complex design like the Klein Bottle with a few simple matrices.
