My favorite MATLAB demonstration is the one on Earth's Topography. It's interesting because it creates a 3 dimensional figure as well as incorporates colors into the figure. The use of specific colors for different altitudes makes it especially easy to tell which parts of the earth have mountain ranges. I really like that I can rotate the figure and see which parts of the world follow the same time zones because of the way the lights sources are illuminating the figure.

About Me

I'm currently studying in Trinity College of Arts & Sciences at Duke University, but am interested in transferring to Pratt School of Engineering next semester. I want to study biology and computer science, and thought that a major in Biomedical Engineering would be the perfect balance between the two. I am also exploring the idea of a minor in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics.

Name Pronunciation

My name is pronounced as Saan-YA KO-char, but a lot of people mistakenly call me Sonia Kosher. Autocorrect enjoys changing my name to Santa, which isn't a terrible thing because everyone loves Santa.

Current Courses

For Spring 2017, the classes I am taking are: 1. EGR 103! 2. Math 112 3. Bio 201 4. Writing 101 5. Dance 140

Grand Challenge Article

Regarding the grand challenge on providing access to clean water: Student engineers' project expands access to clean water in Kenyan village, Jessica Luo, Princeton University, updated April 2, 2015, accessed February 5, 2017 (General) Skochhar (talk) 16:11, 5 February 2017 (EST)

MATLAB Demonstration

My favorite MATLAB demonstration is the one on Earth's Topography. It's interesting because it creates a 3 dimensional figure as well as incorporates colors into the figure. The use of specific colors for different altitudes makes it especially easy to tell which parts of the earth have mountain ranges. I really like that I can rotate the figure and see which parts of the world follow the same time zones because of the way the lights sources are illuminating the figure.
