My favorite Matlab demo was the World Traveler 3D Globe.  I was intrigued by this application because it seems nearly impossible to create using Matlab. It was an interesting look at world locations and real-life flight patterns.  Particularly, I found the spherical shape of the globe, the color scheme, and the interactive selection process to be extremely impressive.  I was surprised when I analyzed the script and it was simpler than I had originally suspected, only 80 lines of script.  That is not to say by any means that I could recreate anything close to this masterpiece.

About Me

I am a student-athlete at Duke University in the class of 2019. I am from Greensboro, NC, which is about an hour away from Duke. I plan on majoring in Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering here at Duke. Balancing football and schoolwork is my main objectives here at Duke.

Name Pronunciation

Kevin (keh-VIN) is easy enough, but many people can't seem to figure out my last name. Gehsmann is pronounced (GUESS-man) to put it as easily as possible.

Current Courses

I am taking the following courses in the Fall Semester of 2015:

  • EGR 103: Computational Methods in Engineering
  • Chem 110: Core Concepts in Chemistry
  • EVANTH 101: Introduction to Evolutionary Anthropology
  • Writing 101: Politics and Science of Caribbean Soundscapes
