Grand Challenges
The attached article is about a group of engineers who have developed an "Origami bridge" that could potentially be used in disaster zones. The bridge expands outward to cross an obstacle, and would allow for cars and people to cross. This type of development would drastically change evacuation routes and traffic in disaster areas. While this doesn't fit under any one area of the Grand Challenges, it best fits in the Urban Infrastructure category.
