My favorite demo is Visualizing Sound. The command '''xpsound''' demonstrates MATLAB's sound capability. I learned from reading the demo that it is useful for viewing audio files graphically. A time sequence is a two-dimensional plot of the data as a function of time. This seems rather basic; however, the next two capabilities sound much more interesting! The power spectral density, or PSD, is a distribution of the signal's frequency content for the sound. Finally, the spectrogram allows for view of the frequency content as a function of time graph.

About Me

I am a student in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University planning to major in biomedical engineering. I was born in Pembroke Pines, Florida and went to University School of Nova Southeastern University for elementary, middle, and high school.

Personal Life

I am the daughter of Manuel and Maria Sanchez, both Cuban-born American citizens. They both grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts (which explains my sports teams preferences below). I have an older brother, Marcus, who has an Masters in Computer Science and Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. Pepper, my miniature schnauzer, is the final member of the immediate Sanchez family. I have lived in South Florida with my family since I was born.

Activities

  • Soccer
