Spencer Dahl (spen-sur dahl) is a current member of the Duke University's Class of 2015. He is enrolled in the Pratt School of Engineering.

Academics

For the fall of 2011 he is taking Chemistry 31L, Engineering 53, Economics 55D, and Math 107. He is also in Music 104, a weekly small jazz ensemble that meets on Tuesday evenings. At the time of this press release, he was planning to double major in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Economics, although this may be subject to change.

Interests

Music

Spencer is a musician, having played trumpet since the 5th grade. Beginning his freshman year he began teaching himself guitar. After showing an interest in the saxophone, he began teaching himself tenor saxophone going into sophomore year. By his junior year his interests in the tenor saxophone had surpassed his trumpet playing and the sax became his primary instrument.

He enjoys a variety of musical styles and artists including: O.A.R., Dave Matthews Band, Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, Sonny Stitt, John Mayer, The Rippingtons, and Steely Dan.

Athletics

Spencer played on his school's varsity lacrosse team for 3 years, beginning his sophomore year. He has played lacrosse since the 2nd grade and started at the face-off position for his junior and senior years. He also ran cross-country his senior year and helped Brunswick School to a Division II New England Championship. He has been a member of Crossfit for the past 9 months.

Camp Belknap

Spencer as attended YMCA Camp Belknap for 9 years, 7 as a camper and 2 on the staff. He hopes to return for a 10th summer this year.

Other

He also enjoys piña coladas and getting caught in the rain.
