Non-Persian speakers frequently mispronounce the "ar" of Faraz (<i>a-<span style="font-variant:small-caps;>"r"</span></i> /æˈr/), which occurs at the transition from the first to second syllable. These mispronunciations vary greatly, and many sound ugly. As such, I prefer people to mispronounce my name as I like it: <i>fu-<span style="font-variant:small-caps;">rawz</span></i>.

== I Don't Like MatLab, and You Shouldn't Too ==

MatLab is expensive for poor college students like me and costs the university unnecessary monies. It's pretty rigid in its functionality as well.

Why not consider something awesome like [http://www.python.org/ Python]?  It's open source, free, cross platform, and absolutely incredible for so many use cases,  Python is also just as easily readable and code-able as MatLab.  Afraid of loosing plotting functionality?  You can pop in a package like [http://matplotlib.sourceforge.net/ matplotlib], [http://www.scipy.org/NumPy_for_Matlab_Users?action=show&redirect=NumPy+for+Matlab+Addicts NumPy], and [http://www.scipy.org/SciPyv SciPy].

All of these packages offer an incredible amount of versatility to Python's incredibility.

Support the revolution! Support free and open software and saving the university some cash! It'll be a cool opportunity to learn a language that has so many use cases.  Even Google makes extensive use of Python and promotes it's usage in their [http://code.google.com/appengine/ AppEngine] for building web apps on their cloud.''

How to Say Faraz Yashar

Briefly: fu-rawz yah-shar.

Faraz (Persian: فراز; preferred pronunciation /fʌˈrɔːz/ fu-rawz; proper pronunciation /fæˈrɔːz/ fa-rawz); Yashar (Hebrew: ישר; pronunciation: /jɑːˈʃɑr/, yah-shar). See Wikipedia's English IPA key and pronunciation respelling key for information regarding the pronunciation representations used here.

Non-Persian speakers frequently mispronounce the "ar" of Faraz (a-"r" /æˈr/), which occurs at the transition from the first to second syllable. These mispronunciations vary greatly, and many sound ugly. As such, I prefer people to mispronounce my name as I like it: fu-rawz.

A Nonsense Bio

I was a sperm and egg, then I was a zygote. Before you knew it I was a freshly hatched fetus, and by the magic of nature, I grew into a dude after many years.
