About Me
Alex Culbert (Alexander Gregory Culbert) is a current undergraduate student at Duke University, with the Class of 2019. He hails from Alaska, graduating from Chugiak High School with a 79% attendance rate for his senior year of class. He is currently single.
Interests
Alex enjoys long walks on the beach, the Lord of the Rings, snowboarding, and the gym. He can often be found walking around his dorm shirtless. Alex has a love/hate relationship with the local bar, Shooters II.
Name Pronunciation
Alexander Culbert. Alex-And-Er Kul-Bert. It's pronounced just like how it's spelt.
Current Courses
For this Fall 2015 semester I am currently taking
- EGR 103
- Chem 101
- Math 212
- Writing 101
Major
I am hoping to major in BME, and am toying with the notion of a double major with ME. The latter is very likely to be dropped as soon as my classes start picking up.
Grand Challenges
Reverse Engineering the Brain, Sally Adee, IEEE Spectrum, updated June 2008, accessed 14 January 2009 (Grand Challenge)
MATLAB Help and Demonstrations
My favorite MATLAB Demonstration was the 3-D Plots, under Graphics. I liked this help document because I always have trouble visualizing 3-D graphs, and it's very useful to have a computer generated graph for my math class.
