My favorite demonstration was the 3-D Drawing demonstration. I very much enjoyed it once I realized that I could place the dots very close together to create more complex shapes, such as a heart or a spinning top. I am also attempting to create the texture/3-D visual of a flower, but that is a lot more difficult. It's a lot of fun to play around with this demonstration because it actually allows me to interact and do things and see the results of my work. A lot of the script based demos only allowed reading of the script (and running and viewing) which was fun. I enjoy interaction more.

About Me

My name is Darshana Jaint, but I usually go by Darcy. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I believe very strongly in my faith and am happy and willing to discuss it with others. I hope to leave on a mission in about a year. I was born in India, and I am also deeply connected to my Indian culture.

I am a freshman in Trinity College at Duke as of the spring of 2014. I really enjoy working with computers and programming in general. I also have a deep seated interest in physics and answering the pressing philosophical questions of the world. I'm a double Physics/ECE major (or, I will be once I transfer into Pratt).

Name

My first name is Darshana (all three "A"s are pronounced like in car with the emphasis on the second syllable sha), but at Duke I go by Darcy (pronounced like Mr. Darcy's name, from Pride and Prejudice). My surname, Jaint, is pronounced as in faint but with a "J".

Classes

This semester, I am taking four classes:

  • Physics 361, Intermediate Mechanics
  • Engineering 103, Computational Methods in Engineering
  • Writing 101, We the People and the Boundaries of Democracy
  • Math 356, Elementary Differential Equations
