+ | Out of the MATLAB demos my favorite was the demo "Viewing a Penny." It was my favorite demonstration less for what I learned from it, but more just because I though it was cool. Out of math one thing I've always enjoyed are contour maps because I've always thought of them as altitude maps for hiking a mountain or something outdoors that interests me. Then I also am a small coin collector and thought that using contour maps to find the heights and sizes of a penny to graph it was a really cool idea and concept that I never would've come up with. I also thought the color mapping was interesting more just for the practicality of it if you are ever trying to display something real on through MATLAB. |
