About Me
I'm Steven Wan, or Steve, or Swan (see if you can figure this one out), or whatever you want to call me. As of right now (September 2010), I've spent 1/3 of my life in China and the other 2/3 in Texas. Now, I'm a freshman at Duke, obviously.
Name
Steven Wan (ST-even ONE), very simple. The other variations:
- Steve (ST-eve)
- Swan (SWAN), like the animal
Accolades
None that's important enough for the adult part of my life. Though there is this - 2010 Nationals AD ranking
Area of Study
Hopefully I'll still want to be a BME major at the end of this year. I'll definitely stay on the pre-med route though.
Grand Challenge Article
- Nanotubes that Heals: Engineering Better Orthopedic Implants, by Marcia Goodrich, Physorg.com, Created on 18 May 2010, Acced on 19 September 2010 (Grand Challenge - Engineer Better Medicine)
Favorite MATLAB Demo
By far, my favorite demo is the GUI demos, especially the Game of Life demo. The case study for the AP computer science AB exam involved interactions between various objects found within a grid environment. Because of that, I really enjoyed the interactions in the Game of Life because I've made something similar to that.
