This page is meant to help visualize how voltage division and current division work. It is a work in progress!

Voltage Division

Steps

  • Clearly write the equivalent resistance as seen by the two nodes across which the total voltage drop is known. This will help clarify how the voltage can be divided.
  • Use voltage division on the equivalent resistance as necessary.
  • Repeat if there are subnodes where re-division is required.
