About Me
I am a student currently deciding to switch into the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University. I am an undergraduate here in Air Force ROTC which is another reason why I am pursuing a technical degree. I am originally from a US Naval Base in Japan called Fleet Activities Sasebo and am a half-Japanese half-American living it up as a Blue Devil!
Name Pronunciation
Japanese Name is "Yuuta" sounds like "You-tuh" Not like the state of Utah, please don't call me that. Just call me by my middle name Rikki because my Japanese name is off limits for those who cannot speak Japanese.

Favorite Demonstration
My favorite demonstration was the Loma Prieta Earthquake Analysis because not only did I see a lot of the codes such as "hold on" and "hold off" that we use in our graphs for Lab 2 but also the way it applies to me personally. Modeling earthquake data is something Japan is very much concerned about and learning about how they do it and how complex the numbers must be, it just amazes me how much we really rely on computer calculators to help us in Japan. The bulk of data in Japan must stack up so much due to the amount of earthquakes that happen per minute in multiple locations. This demonstration really emphasized the amount of data that goes in to graph such detailed figures. It was very interesting, thank you for sharing this with me.
