About Me
My name is Sebastian Baquerizo, and I come from Ecuador. I am a freshman at Duke University looking to major in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Pratt School of Engineering. I graduated from a New England boarding school in NH, Phillips Exeter Academy, in the year 2013.
Name Pronunciation
The way most Americans pronounce my name "Sebastian Baquerizo" is "se-BAST-chian ba-kay-Ri-zo." If it helps, it's the same name of the crab in the little mermaid, Sebastian. Furthermore, my last name, Baquerizo, rhymes with chorizo.
Current Classes
For the fall of 2013, I am taking four classes at Duke University.
- ARTHIST.285D: Modern Architecture
- CEE.160L: Introduction to Environmental Engineering
- EGR.103L: Computational Methods
- MATH 122L: Calculus II

Favorite Matlab Demostration:
My favorite Matlab demostration was the Bending Truss one, which was part of the other examples. This one was my favorite demonstration because I am planning on becoming a Civil Engineer, and I am very interested in bridges constructions. This demonstration comes in handy in order to understand how bridges behave in real life.
