About Me
My name is Leon Cai, and I am currently a prospective BME student at Duke University. I attended high school at Dublin Coffman High School, back in good 'ol Dublin, Ohio. This page was created for my EGR 103L class. Oh, and my name is pronounced LEE-awn K-eye ("awn" as in "awning" and and "eye" as in "eyeball")
Interests
Throughout high school, I played tennis, and was actively involved in music. As a tennis player, I was actively involved on the high school team and reached the state quarterfinals twice in doubles. As a musician, I played piano, guitar, and served as a sound engineer for P3 Productions.
Current Course Schedule
In my first semester here at Duke, I am taking the following classes:
- EGR 103L
- EGR 103L9
- CHEM 201DL
- CHEM 201L9
- MATH 212
- ENGLISH 222S
Favorite MATLAB Demonstration
I'd have to say my favorite MATLAB demonstration that is included in the MATLAB Help section is that of the Loma Prieta Earthquake. This is because so far we've been working with basic commands and techniques it MATLAB, all with simple arithmetic. The Loma Prieta Earthquake demonstration includes more complex commands like integration and 3D plotting, but furthermore, it shows the immense possibility contained within MATLAB. I think the demonstration is the embodiment of a great answer to the standard question, "What are we going to do with this, teacher?" It's cool, but it also demonstrates the usefulness of a tool like MATLAB.
One Last Thing...
Oh, and I love food. But who doesn't?
