About me
My name is Kahaan Vasa. I am from Ahmedabad, India. It is one of the fastest growing cities in India and was recently voted as the best city to live in India by an independent survey. I was born and brought up in Ahmedabad and have lived there all my life. I have an elder brother studying Economics with Finance at USC and he will finish his undergraduate education in May 2014. I am currently enrolled in Pratt School of Engineering and while still unsure, mostly plan to pursue Mechanical Engineering as my major.
Extra-Curricular Activities
I have been playing tennis nationally since the past 8 years and it is one of the biggest parts of my life. I have also played in the main draw of 2 Junior ITF Tournaments in Namibia. I am also enrolled in the Men's Club Tennis team at Duke.
Current Courses
I am currently enrolled in 5 courses at Duke. They are EGR103L: Computational Methods in Engineering, MATH122L: Calculus 2 with Applications, CHEM101DL: Core Concepts in Chemistry, EOS101: A Dynamic Earth and EGR90L: Introduction to Engineering.
Grand Challenges For Engineering
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/15/business/15solar.html?_r=2&hp&oref=slogin&, Two Large Solar Plants Planned in California, Matthew Wald, New York Times, accessed 15 August 2008 (General). This article is about how solar energy is being harvested in California by the set up of these two high capacity solar plants.
MATLAB Demonstrations
I think the best MATLAB demonstration was the basic Writing A MATLAB Program video. Having never used any form of MATLAB before, it was really convenient to learn how the software works and what are the different features offered using the software. The video stands out due to it's simplicity and it gave a real idea as to what different commands can be carried out using MATLAB.
