Next, try restarting your computer and bring up X-Win 32. If *that* has Display 1, you need to go into X-Config (in the X-Win program group), go to the Network tab, and make sure it is set for Display Number 0. Finally, make sure you are *not* using the "setenv DISPLAY" stuff - with PuTTY and X11 tunnelling you do not need it. - Every time I open X-Win32 on my home computer and roll over the icon, it says "Display 1" when I haven't opened anything else. Then when I open Putty and try to open MATLAB or Maple, I receive the error message "X connection to localhost:10.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown)." How do I get the "Display 0" message and MATLAB and Maple to open? Gml8 20:33, 19 April 2009 (EDT)
- So, I think first, try the fix for the Infinite Maple Startup Time with respect to killing X-Win. Please let me/us know if any of those work - DukeEgr93 22:54, 19 April 2009 (EDT)
- I now see the "Display 0" Message but get the same "server shutdown" message every time I try to use MATLAB. Gml8 00:07, 22 April 2009 (EDT)
